Dairy products and forest products are produced in the province as based on the raw material sources. Especially Ardahan kashar and honey are very well-known in the country. There are 30 dairy plants (dairy farms) in different sizes in the province and 20 of them are in Göle. Approximately 4 thousands of kashar cheese are produced annually. Event though livestock breeding is carried out mainly in Ardahan, there is no facility for proceeding meat products. Therefore, approximately 120 thousands of bovine animals and 20 thousands of sheep and goats are transferred to other cities. Beekeeping and goose breeding activities are limited to family business level, and annual honey production amount is approximately 800 tons while goose production is 150 thousands. In addition to the industry based on agriculture, production of construction materials and forest products and furniture production are carried out.
